Time for bodywork
I decided it was time to get the bodywork sorted.
In all the years I've owned it I have never done a thing to the exterior.
I asked a friend if he was willing to take on the job and he agreed. Many thanks to Glenn.
These few pictures show how he replaced the ends of the rear scuttle with panels from Ex-Pressed.

Unfortunately I haven't found a picture showing the rusty scuttle before the repair. I'm sure I have one somewhere.

The strut tops have been 'repaired' a few times in the past and the rust was beginning to show underneath the inner wing so I started 'digging' on the drivers side. I removed three top plate repair panels that must have been added over the years to get the car through various MOTs. Even the cup that the strut bolts to had rotted away and been replaced by a 'home made' section.
I removed all the rot but the rust went so far down the inner wing that the replacement strut top had to be extended by an inch or two. The welds were ground down and the panel and inner wing were trimmed until an acceptable gap was achieved.
